WASHINGTON UPDATE by Congresswoman Kay Granger

To Fort Worth Republican Women:

Thank you so much for what you are doing for our party and for our cause. In all

my 12 years in Congress, I have never seen anything like the last 12 months. Here

is one fact you should know that should concern you: President Obama spent more

money in one year than President Clinton spent in eight.

And what do we have to show for it? Record deficits, double-digit unemployment and nationalized health care on the way.

Yet, as concerned as I am about what is going in Washington, I am optimistic and hopeful about what is going on in America. The American people realize that we can't spend our way out of debt, we can't tax our way into prosperity and we can't regulate our way into better health care. The American people have seen the Obama-Pelosi agenda and they realize it doesn't work.

That's why I am working harder than ever for conservative solutions that do work like cutting taxes to create economic growth, voting for tax incentives to help families purchase their own health insurance, and voting to make sure there is real tort reform to keep doctors keep doctors in business and that was proven success-ful in Texas by attracting 400 doctors to our state.

I want you to know that I won't stop until the Obama-Pelosi agenda is stopped. My record speaks for itself. I voted No on the $787 billion stimulus package, voted no on Cap and Trade, voted No on the government takeover of our health care system, and voted to take federal funds away from ACORN. I will continue to stand up for you and speak out for your values.

Thank you for being involved in Fort Worth Republican Women and the Tarrant County Republican Party. Thank you for caring about America's future. And thank you for your support and friendship. I am proud and honored to represent you in Congress.

Sincerely,

Kay
